Ben Lawers excavations featured on BBC Radio 3

While excavating around rock art sites on the slopes of Ben Lawers, one of Scotland's highest mountains, Richard Bradley and I uncovered some interesting relationships between quartz and the creation of cup and ring marks.

Quartz has unusual properties the might have lent it significance in prehistory, including the ability to glow in the dark. These qualities have now inspired author Linda Cracknell to write about her own relationship with the crystal.
