A visit to Cairnbaan rock art in the rain

I have long been intrigued by how the appearance of cup and ring marks can change dramatically depending upon the light and weather. On some days a site can be almost invisible, while on others the light catches the carvings so they stand out.

On this day, droplets of heavy rain were animating the surface of the rock, and turning the cups and rings at Cairnbaan into pools of water that reflected the sky.
